Life in Hostel (Another side of Life)

"The Night train ride from Bhubaneswar to Vijayawada was the most memorable journey of my Life. For one, it gave me way of Life in Hostel. And a Good Friend (his name is Mr.Bipini Pandey).
He walked in five minutes after the train had left station. He opened the curtain of my enclosure and looked puzzled.
“is coach B3,Seat 48 here?’ he said, ‘Actually it is. My seat is right in front of you’, he answered his own question and heaved his heavy suitcase onto the upper berth.
‘Hi’, I’m Sreejith, and "U"? My name is Bipni Pandey,
Studying B-Tech in Chennai. “he replied”
‘What are you doing? ‘He asked,
Iam working as a Branch manager in a Pvt Firm.
where are you going? I’m going to Vijayawada to meet my Friends. I replied
“In 10 minutes we are becoming good friends together”.
That night we are talking about job, college life, girlfriends…etc. I asked to him about Hostel life because I have no idea about hostel life. I complete my school & college level nearby my home.
He tell the common story of First day of Hostel, food, etc. and he continuing his story.
It’s midnight and there is a voice tugging away your blanket, trying to tell you to a million-dollar idea and it turns out to be the most ridiculous concept you have ever heard. But you laugh and make a midnight snack to continue talking about it. This could only happen with your hostel roommate. Two strangers who share a 10 feet by 10 feet room;
“ Who could predict that they would end up becoming best friends for life.”
A lot of students leave their homes to join colleges in far-off cities; they leave their old friends, siblings and parents behind for a new beginning. Usually the stranger on the other side of the room is the first one to offer you a helping hand.
In my case, my roommate and I had the same classes for the entire first semester; we would wake up five minutes before class and fight over who will to use the bathroom first. Then complain about leaving the bathroom and the room in a mess after we finished. But then the incredible dash to the early morning lecture was a cordial discussion about how we both hated early morning class and also the idiosyncrasies of the professor.
My roommate and I became very good friends; we would have dinner together, exchange notes and ensure each one was keeping track of each other.

“A good roommate can make or break your college experience.”

During the early days of hostel life, we had days when our seniors decided to pick on the fresher’s in the college; we were picked out of rooms at 2 am by a group of obnoxious seniors looking to gather their revenge. The task was not difficult but highly entertaining; we were made to do physically challenging tasks such as pushups and elbow walks. Watching the weaklings and the nerds drop like flies is an integral part of the senior induction.
Seniors in hostels saw this process as a way of introducing themselves to the freshmen. At the end of such sessions, everyone would usually gather around and socialize over a real meal and not just hostel food.
Hostel life adds a lots of skills to an individual, these skills cannot be put up on your CV but definitely add value in the real world. Most important rule of hostel life is that food is more valuable than diamonds; saving your stock and hoarding is an important part of living in a dorm room. Care packages from parents should be disguised as smelly socks and stored away or they will be devoured by the pack of hyenas roaming the hallways. Maggi Noodles and candy bars are the all-time favorites as they are cheap and effective; make sure to always be stocked up on them.
A hostel experience may be tough and mentally taxing on the best of people but it is one experience I will not exchange for all the gold in the world!

‘okay, ‘he said and become quiet. He got up spred a bed sheet on his berth, and then arranged his pillow and blanket. I guessed he was planning to go Sleep.
